About the author

Tamara’s happiness journey began when her daughter was diagnosed with autism and she found her world turned upside down. The things she thought were important for a happy life (like cars, houses, and clothes) took a backseat to connection, joy and purpose. This led to Tamara’s commitment to improving proactive wellbeing on a global scale and has led to her involvement with world leaders in contextual wellbeing measurement and management. She has coupled positive psychology interventions with days of the week to give structure and support to organizational wellbeing in her book The Happiness Reset- What to do When Nothing Makes You Happy.

Tamara has a passion for mindfulness, the science of habit formation and disrupting thought patterns to promote growth. She has been a staff writer and happiness expert for Deepak Chopra’s Chopra Center for many years. She also chairs the AI for Human Flourishing group at part of the Human Flourishing Program at Harvard.

When Tamara is not teaching or learning she can be found at home on Vancouver Island fueling her zest by throwing epic parties, spending time with her husband and four children, and planning travel. Her deep belief if that happiness happens by choice, not chance.
